Service Project

Last Monday we had the opportunity to join about 8 families in doing a service project cleaning up the garden at Lea and Jonah's elementary school. We had fun weeding, digging, and planting with friends from church.

Camping Fun with the Olsens

Of course it isn't a camp-out for our family without the kayaks. Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures of the campfire or anything, but we got lots of pictures of our kayaking fun. We love Lake Solano in Winters! It was beautiful weather and it didn't even get cold at night! We were still in short sleeves! The kids had a blast playing with their buddies and Dan and I loved staying up late with Anissa and Brent talking after the kids were asleep! So much fun!

Apple Festival

Here is my sweet kindergartner, Jonah! After the first week of school Dan and I were wondering if we needed to get Jonah some counseling because he was having such a hard time adjusting. He was angry and he acted out frequently everyday. I had to go to his school to play referee and protect the students and staff from my son. It was heartbreaking! Finally on the 10th day of school his teacher had a positive report for me. He was much calmer and it was like a whole new Jonah. I've always known that Jonah didn't take well to change and that transitions were hard for him, but man, this was the most challenging transition yet! But now Jonah is used to his new schedule and teacher and class and he is much better behaved. Jonah is my sweet Jonah once again. He still has to keep his temper in check, but he is doing very well. Last Friday they had an apple festival for the kindergartners and Jonah enjoyed participating in the fun activities.

The relay race and crafts were fun but of course the way to Jonah's heart is through his stomach and the apple tasting was his favorite activity. They tasted red, green, and yellow apples. Jonah's favorite are the red apples.

Jonah is growing up and it is so much fun to watch my little kindergartner learn!

Micah

Micah is officially 18 months old! And what an 18 month journey it has been! Micah is a special light in our family that brightens us up and brings happiness to us. Micah is a happy boy that loves to laugh. He has a dimple now that he didn't have before due to a damaged cheek muscle when he fell on the corner of an ottoman about a month ago. Micah climbs up and jumps off everything. When the bruise went away a dimple remained. It's very cute, but I still feel a little guilty every time I see it. Micah is a thinker and a doer. Micah studies how people do things and then calmly does it himself. He is quite independent. He is saying more words all the time. He loves to say his sister and brother's names: "ee-ya" for Lea, and "nuh-nuh" for Jonah. He also says mama and mommy and mom, dada, hi, "no" for nose, baba for bottle (which I just weaned him off of - we are now using sipee cups), "ba" for ball, "Boo" for balloon,"uh-oh", "owee", "eew", "day-goo" for thank you, "bye-bye", "pees" for please, "ah-duh" for all done, and a whispered "ha" for hot. Micah weighs 28lb. 8 oz. (81%) and he is 2 ft. 10 inches tall (91%). Above are some fun pictures of Micah with a spaghetti face and pictures that show his little dimple. My little cutie!

Costume Fun

Jonah and Lea were given some cool things from their babysitter and they had a lot of fun with them. Jonah was dressed up in a power ranger costume and Lea decorated this cute butterfly pillow. Since Jonah was a superhero we needed to make Micah one too. Haley (awesome babysitter) pinned this cape around him and he became "Camouflage Man".

Go Cougars!

BYU Football has begun! We kicked off the first game of the season with our friends the Andersons and we enjoyed cheering on our favorite football team - the Cougars! Dan's parents, Stan and Roxanna, sent us an awesome BYU care package as an early Christmas present that had T-shirts for everyone, a Y-shaped cookie cutter and BYU game food recipe book, a BYU serving bowl, a BYU flag and other fun paraphernalia. We will have other pictures of these things to come from future games I'm sure! We got all decked out to cheer the Cougars on to a VICTORY over Washington - Go BYU!
