Lea's Recital

Our talented Lea had a choir concert last week and of course we brought the whole family to see her. She had a solo and she did a very good job! The concert was in a large theater and so it was a very cool experience for her! Great job Lea! Grandma brought pretty flowers for our star!

Jonah's Field Trip

I had the privilege of accompanying Jonah's kindergarten class to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom on a field trip. We had a fun time. This was Jonah's first time riding a school bus. It was quite exciting!

Jonah was being silly during snack time with his friends.

Jonah and his friend Julia.

We saw birds...

...tigers...

...and elephants.

We also saw reptiles, but I didn't get a picture. I guess we were too fascinated with them. :)

My Visit With Anya

Last weekend I went to Seattle, Washington to visit my great friend and old college roommate, Anya. We had a fantastic visit and we celebrated her birthday in style!

We visited some fun places - Cupcake Royale, Alki Beach, and Theo Chocolate Factory.

Great Hairnets for the tour - it was worth it though. :)

This is the cacoa that chocolate comes from.

It was a great tour and we sampled way too much chocolate while we were there!

For Anya's 30th birthday her sister set up an 80's themed dinner and surprise birthday party at the skating rink! Totally awesome! Anya loves everything 80's!

I totally regret not getting a picture with Steven, but we were having too much fun talking that I forgot. We had lunch with Steven on Saturday and we visited for a couple of hours. It was a delicious breakfast for lunch at Portage Bay Cafe and it was a great visit. Love you Steve! Miss you!

Six Flags Discovery Kingdom: First Trip of the Season

We are fortunate to live 10 minutes away from an awesome theme park so we decided to get season passes this year. Last Saturday was our first trip there and it's the first time Micah can remember ever going there (I think he went once when he was a few months old). He was so excited! We just went for a couple of hours but we had fun at the few attractions we visited.

First stop the Sea Lions. We didn't see the show, we just watched them on their time off.

Micah is fascinated with Sharks. We have this book about sharks that he loves. So all day we had been telling him that we were going to see some sharks. He could hardly wait - he was super excited!

This was so fun to see Micah in awe - he was all smiles.

We ran into some friends of ours - the Olsens - at the train ride in the little kid area.

This leash is a "must have" for Micah!

Then we played more in the little kid area. I think it's called Loony Tune Land or something.

Lea and Jonah enjoyed a small roller coaster. They are looking forward to our next trip when we will be there long enough for them to go on some of the big rides.

Last but not least was the merry-go-round.
