The Many Faces of Lunch

We like to get creative with Micah's lunches. He loves when I make smiley faces out of his food!

Micah's First Day of Preschool

 Micah is in preschool this year and he loves it! He was so ready and he will be so ready for kindergarten next year! Our neighbor, Miss Laura, is awesome and teaches out of her home. His two buddies and neighbors of ours are in his class too: Collin and Oliver. Micah is so smart and he is thriving in preschool!

Fun with a tire swing :)

At the end of the summer we went to a BBQ at Daniel's Uncle Jerry's house (which used to belong to Daniel's grandparents) They have a great tree house, a zip line, and this tire swing in their yard. All the kids loved it there and I got these cute pictures of Micah and Emma and Jane Howard.

Soccer!

 This year we had three kids playing soccer and that made for a fun but busy soccer season!

 Lea just loved soccer this year. She really got into it after taking 2 years off. Lea likes to play defense and she is excited to play next year.

 Jonah still likes playing goalie, but he didn't get much action when he played goalie this year because his team had a great offense. Jonah did well in the other positions too, although he is partial to defense too. Jonah got to play on the same team as his cousin Spencer and that was his favorite part of playing soccer this year.

 This was Micah's first year playing soccer, and although Daniel and I agree that 4 years old is a little young to start soccer, Micah still had fun.

All the kids are looking forward to playing in the spring season...

And Emma will be there cheering them on!

Fruit!

 Living at my in-laws house comes with the blessing of taking care of their orchard. Although it is a lot of work, we sure got a lot of great fruit out of it! This fall was all fruit and soccer. Literally. I made jam, pies, cobblers, and crisps - as well as canned 5 dozen quarts of peaches, 15 pints of peach jam, 3 dozen quarts of pears, 14 quarts of applesauce, 2 dozen quarts of apple pie filling, and 2 dozen quarts of grape juice. Yum! I feel quite productive!

 Emma and Micah had fun picking apples with me one day.

 My kids are so cute! I love them!

 Daniel played a big part in making the grape juice. It is soooo good!

 The kids helped a little with making applesauce, but it really was the most time consuming of all the fruit.

 This really was a good year for peaches!

 It all started in the summer with the fabulous raspberry bushes!

 For about three weeks Lea and Jonah were in charge of picking a bowl a day. :)

Now all winter long we can enjoy the fruit of our labors! Delish!
