School Halloween Parties

Friday morning the kids were so excited about the days Halloween festivities! Lea was trying out her angel wings and Jonah was taking his superhero power ranger status very seriously. Both of them were ready for school bright and early this morning.

This is a "mom, I'm eating and I don't want to pose for a picture right now" face. I was able to help at Jonah's class party in the morning and Lea's party in the afternoon. Jonah's class made these cute ghosts that were hanging all over the classroom.

They had several stations for crafts and activities. Here is Jonah sporting his spider hat.

It was a little harder to take pictures of Lea because I'm the room mom and I was in charge of her party so I was busy running around. Here's my angel eating yummy snacks.

The kids loved the eyeball relay. They had to balance an "eyeball" bouncy-ball on a spoon. It was fun hearing the kids cheering on their teammates.

Larry's Produce Pumpkin Patch

It has become a tradition (3 years now) for us to visit Larry's Produce every fall when they have the pumpkin patch, haunted house, and haystack playground. I thought since we went to the other pumpkin patch my kids wouldn't miss it, but they insisted! We had to go to Larry's Produce! So we did. And I'm glad we did - the kids had a great time.

I didn't go into the haunted house because I thought it would scare Micah, but Lea and Jonah went in it and they said it was cool and scary. This year there was a big boxed-in area full of dry beans to play in. All three kids loved it, especially Micah.

Halloween Cookies

While Lea was away at a Girl Scout event, Jonah and I were baking buddies. We had fun making and eating ghost and bat sugar cookies. Yum! And I have finally mastered homemade frosting! Years ago I had such unlucky experiences with it that I stopped trying for a while. After years of store bought frosting, I attempted homemade just this year and twice now it's been fantastic! Yay!

Visit with "Uncle" Sam

We were so lucky to have Dan's best friend and cousin, Sam, come and visit us last weekend. It rained the whole time he was here, but Sam and Dan still went Kayaking at the beach on a foggy drizzly day and they also went to Muir Woods Redwood Forest and hiked around there.

The kids call him "Uncle Sam." We loved listening to him play guitar.

Lea even got a little guitar lesson.

We all had fun dancing to the music.

Here we are staying in playing games at night after the kids went to bed. It's about midnight and we are finishing up Rummikub.

Sam and Aleena look tired.

But Daniel is so happy that his cousin is here that he is still full of energy.
