This is a bunch of pasty white men ruining a nice hot springs a miles hike from our 3rd day camp. It sits nettled against Lune Creek, beautiful yet freezing stream the brave or stupid, jump into after overheating in the hot springs. The video below shows a breath holding contest we had that I of course won! ;)
This is Diesel after dropping down the loading ramp. It is about 50 yards from top to bottom and can be a little hairy at times.
My boat, Diesel, and its passengers: Me at the oars, Sam Howard riding the rear pack, and some neat people from Idaho, Jean and Al Spaulding rinding on my dry box in the front. The Spauldings had been on another oarsman's boat the day before when it flipped and wanted to try someone else's ride. I told them that we hit anything worth hitting and even though Al is 79 years old, they were game and stayed on through some pretty wild stuff when other boats were bypassing stuff we we hitting.
This my dad surveying the damage after his raft flipped during Velvet Falls. There was a huge hole 300 yards before the falls, that is not normally there. It confused us, thinking that we had already dropped the Falls when in fact they were right around the corner. My dad flipped, I almost flipped, Sam Howard fell out in the hole prior to the falls and got back in just in time to almost flip out again. Everything was tied on securely, nothing lost from my dad's boat. We started a fire and got every one dry and went on our way.
One of our boatman kept getting hung up on rocks. This episode took about 20 minutes before he was able to dislodge himself.
It rained and even snowed a couple of times, but we were prepared. My dad had a couple traps sown together and reinforced to create the huge kitchen canopy you see below. It really kept us comfortable when it was nasty out.
This Clip is of a huge whole that if you slow the clip down, covers the entire boat. It "taco ed" the front of the boat, slamming Sam Howard, the dude on the the very front of the raft all the way back into the passengers riding on my dry boxes. I hope I can pull some stills off of it because it was a really nice hit.
This clip shows how luck is often more important than skill. I thought I was far enough Left to skip the really bad hole on the far right of the river. I end up hitting a nice whole river left that takes hold of my boat and shoots me all the way across the river and into the huge widow maker that defines Rubber Rapid. We were held momentarily before I was able to get one solid back oar to pull us out backwards. Loved it!

My Aunt Donna and her youngest daughters Tiahna and Bailey visited and I took a picture of them on this water ride even though it's hard to see them. We had a lot of fun with them!
Shouka the whale! We also saw the dolphin show but we sat in the splash zone and got SOAKED!!! So I don't have pictures of that.
