Thanksgiving Surprise

This year for Thanksgiving my three siblings were going to California to be together with my mom. We didn't think we could go, so we broke the sad news to my mom that we would not be all together for Thanksgiving this year. Later, we learned that we could go, but we chose not to tell my mom. Instead we surprised her on Thanksgiving Day knocking on her door in California. Surprise! She was so happy and definitely surprised. I wish I could have gotten her reaction on video. She laughed and cried and just kept hugging us, disbelieving that we were actually there!
We had a fabulous Thanksgiving with a delicious meal and family pictures. :)
We were able to visit Marie and Aaron and their 4 boys. We also got to meet our newest nephew, Jacob. It was so nice to visit with Marie and her family.

We had great fun in my mom's backyard. And the weather was absolutely beautiful!

My sister-in-law, Kara is expecting her first child in March - a baby boy! We are so excited and she is so cute!

We made sure to get a beach visit in while we were in California. Although it was cold, it was still beautiful to see the grand ocean.

The kids loved it. Jonah found little sand crabs and critters.

Boyer Thanksgiving

Well, we celebrated Thanksgiving with the Boyer side a week and a half earlier than Thanksgiving. We had all of Daniel's siblings and families over to our house for a yummy feast. The kids and I had fun making these yummy turkeys the night before.

Then I used some of the same ingredients to make little chocolate covered marshmallow pilgrim hats to adorn each plate. They made a delicious appetizer!

Along with being in charge of the turkey, I made an apple and a raspberry pie. So tasty! Do you like the B for Boyer? :)
Daniel provided the other appetizer...our quail from the freezer. We gave thanks for them and cooked them up nice and yummy for us to eat.

I absolutely LOVE these gorgeous platters that belong to my sweet mother-in-law. They were so fun to use!

The turkey turned out perfect and was so good!
Jonah made an apple pie at cub scouts. Only an 8 year old boy would make a picture of a turkey being stabbed through the heart with a knife for his Thanksgiving pie! :)
Lea made this cute turkey at school. Gobble, gobble!
