The BEST...

Recently I made the BEST pie I have ever had or made of course. It is DELICIOUS! Daniel is CRAZY about it too! It is a blackberry-strawberry pie. I followed this recipe http://www.joyofbaking.com/BlackberryPie.html and the only thing I changed was to add strawberries and to do a lattice top crust instead of stars. It was so pretty and so yummy!

Before it was cooked and after.

And to go with the BEST pie ever - the BEST package ever! I love my silly Micah!

Let's Go Fly A Kite!

For Family Home Evening a couple of weeks ago, we went to a nearby park and flew kites! We had kind of a late start after dinner so it was already getting dark. But we had a lot of fun anyway!
Lea had a Dora kite and Jonah had a Spiderman kite they had gotten a year ago that we still hadn't flown yet, so we took them out and let the fly!

Micah and Mommy played at the park for a while.

All the kids got turns kite flying, even Micah!
I love family night!

A Night In The City

While my sister Cheryl was visiting during her spring break, she, Daniel, and I went to San Fransisco to the theater. We saw an artsy drama called "The Caretaker." The acting was very good, but the play for me was just okay - I enjoy a great musical much better, or at least a play with more story line to it. Anyway, before the play we had dessert at a diner and we saw this fun art gallery "The Art of Dr. Seuss". We enjoyed the evening and it was fun to share it with two of my favorite people!

Three White Dresses

Our Relief Society at church had a beautiful fashion show/celebration of covenant women with the focus around "Three White Dresses". These dresses are the blessing dress, the baptism dress, and the temple/wedding dress.
My mom is the Relief Society counselor over these events and she and several other talented friends and committee members who decorated the church's cultural hall and organized a fashion show and three great speakers and a beautiful musical number, a song called "What Heaven Sees in You" preformed by myself and two other singing talents. The night was amazing and all women age 8 and up were invited to attend and enjoy the strong spirit that was felt.

The dress in the center in the picture above was my mother's wedding dress.
The fashion show began with four eight-year old girls who were recently baptized modeling their dresses. Lea was one of the lovely models. She did a great job!
Then several of the Young Women modeled wedding dresses lent out by Relief Society sisters and my first temple dress that I let them borrow as well.
It was a wonderful evening and I am so glad I was able to share it with my daughter and my mother - three generations of covenant women!

Easter

Saturday before Easter we colored Easter eggs! It is always fun to see what the kids come up with. Their ideas are far more original than mine!
And of course we always have fun with it!

This was everybody's favorite egg. Jonah made it and it was so pretty. I think he called it sunrise or something.
That evening we had an Easter egg hunt! We hid the boiled eggs and some plastic candy-filled eggs of course. :)

Daddy hid the eggs and Mommy snapped pictures as the kids found them all. Fun!
Easter morning the kids all found their Easter baskets full of treats. They were devoured before breakfast. Lea also got a slip and white shoes to go with her Easter dress. Jonah got three new ties. The aqua tie he wore with his suit to church on Easter. Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture of the kids in their Sunday Easter best. But I did have a friend at church snap a photo of Daniel and I.
Happy Easter!

Happy Birthday Daniel!

My handsome husband turned 33 this year! I made sure he was well fed on his birthday! Buttermilk pancakes and eggs for breakfast...
 Steak fajitas for dinner...
And of course some delicious homemade birthday cake using his Grandma's white cake recipe! Yum!

We gave Daniel all the Star Wars movies in Blu Ray! Happy Birthday Honey! You are the BEST!!!
