Memorial Day

On Memorial Day we had a family BBQ with my mom's side of the family (the Urrutia's) at her house. It was a lot of fun! This picture above is the kitchen crew - Aleena, baby Micah, my mom April, my cousin Jacey, and Aunt Cheryl.

Lea and Cambria are inseperable at family gatherings! Cambria is my cousin Jacey's daughter.
My cousin Brody and his wife Erin had their first child, Keira, two weeks after Micah was born. Congratulations!

'Tis the season for...BABIES! Above is me (Aleena) and Micah, Erin and Keira, and Angela and Luke.

Angie and her husband Mark just had their first baby, Luke, on May 2nd. So cute!

It was such a beautiful day outside that of course the kids had to have a water balloon fight! Above is little Jonas (Jacey's youngest).
Lea and Micah (Jacey's oldest) - they mean business - watch out!

Boys vs. Girls

Everyone got pretty wet and had a great time!

Big Micah (age 8) and baby Micah.

Jonah (age 4) and Jonas (age 3).
Yes my cousin Jacey and I have similar taste in names! Great minds think alike! Or maybe we are just carrying on the legacy since both our dad's are named Ken and my sister Cheryl was named after Jacey's mom.

Jonah and Micah

Friends and Babies

Jennifer is one of my best friends! She and I grew up together and have remained close. She lives in Idaho but she and her husband and 3 kids visited California this Memorial Day Weekend. Her son Zachery was born three weeks after Micah. It was fun to show off our babies (the third for us both) and visit together.

Micah and Friends

Our cute smiley Micah! At Micah's 2 month check-up last week he weighed 14 lbs. 9 oz. and was 24 3/4 inches long! What a chunk! He is in the 93rd percentile for weight and 92nd percentile for height! So out of 100 2 month old's Micah is bigger than 92 of them! We sure love our big baby!

Hanging out with Uncle Steven.

So comfortable! Micah LOVES his great aunt Karina!

Micah took a bath with Jonah for the first time and he LOVED his big brother keeping him company!

Miniature Golf Family Night

Monday night we went miniature golfing for Family Night with Grandma, Uncle David and (soon-to-be Aunt) Kara. We all had a good time. And David and Kara both got holes in one on the 18th hole, winning free mini-golf games! Dan and I need to practice our putting!
Beautiful Grandma watched over Lea and Jonah so Dan and Aleena could have fun playing.

Lea and Jonah love miniature golf and they didn't want to leave.

My Dad

A friend of mine is losing her dad to cancer and my heart aches for her and it aches for me. I miss my dad so much! It has not gotten easier, it only has gotten harder. Sometimes, when I think of my dad dying, I get angry. I WISH HE WAS STILL ALIVE AND HEALTHY! He was only 52! Although I know God has a plan and He knows best and I accept His will and trust in Him, I still sometimes feel like it's not fair. That I was robbed of time with my dad and my children were robbed of knowing their grandfather. I'm glad I have a great love for my dad and I know that he loves me with all his heart. That will never go away! The knowledge of the gospel is such a blessing, but it's still hard to be separated, although just for a time, from your loved ones. My brother is getting married in August and I'm excited for him, but I'm also so excited to be in the temple with my whole family, even my dad! I know he will be there and the sealing powers of the temple are real! Families ARE forever. I feel so blessed to know the restored gospel of Jesus Christ is here on the earth, that God does guide us through living prophets today, and that through sacred ordinances in the temple, families can be together through the eternities after this life. I really miss my dad, but I know I will see him again.

Father and Sons

Beautiful Beach Day with Anya

Jonah, our animal lover, found a four-legged friend.
Micah was living like a king, laying in the shade under his own private umbrella at the beach.

Anya watched the baby for a while so I got to play with Jonah in th water for a while.

Anya got to relax on the beach in the warm sun with a good book...what else do you need on a vacation?

BFF's forever!

And it wouldn't be a water trip with Daniel if we didn't have something to ride the waves/rapids. Dan brought his canoe and he had fun but as soon as we got home he bid on ebay for (and he won) an inflatable kayak to use for next time.

It was fun to watch him out in the ocean, but I must admit, my heart raced a little until he got back safely to shore - there are shark attacks in as shallow as 6 feet of water at Stinson's Beach!

I love this man!

Lea played in the sand with a new friend she made at the beach.

Lea and Jonah chasing the waves and being chased back to shore.

And of course our family always has fun playing in the sand. Dan buried Jonah and later Lea too in the sand. The kids loved it!

FUN, FUN, FUN!
