Jonah's Birthday

Boy is it busy with two birthdays and Christmas in December! (Well four birthdays with my dad and mother-in-law) So I made Jonah chocolate cake with chocolate mint icing for his birthday. It was delicious and Jonah is a fantastic 8-year-old! He gives awesome hugs, he loves to play with legos and marbles and to make crafts. He tells funny jokes and he has a great smile. He is so good with babies and he adores his baby sister Emma. He is a wonderful, handsome boy and we are so happy he is a part of our family! We love our energetic Jonah!

2012 Christmas Card

Dear Family and Friends,

Merry Christmas! As we reflect on this past year we are so grateful for our Savior, Jesus Christ and the blessing He is in our lives! 2012 has been eventful for sure. We went to Disneyland as a family in the beginning of March and Daniel and I celebrated 10 years of marriage at the end of March by going to Hawaii! The biggest event this year was the birth of our fourth child, Emma Joy in August. We also moved from California to Utah in October. Lea and Jonah love their new school and being close to their cousins. We have been enjoying the snow and this holiday season together. We are also excited for Jonah's baptism the first week of January! We love the Gospel of Jesus Christ and we love celebrating His birth this Christmas Season. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy 2013!

Love,
The Boyer Family
Daniel, Aleena, Lea (9), Jonah (8), Micah (3), and Emma (4 months) :)

Christmas Caroling

My favorite Christmas Tradition from my family is to go caroling to our neighbors. This was a great way to share our testimonies of Christ with our neighbors. We would spend time as a family practicing a special song, often from a song we learned in ward choir with parts and everything and we would perform that along with a couple of other fun Christmas carols. Our family's tradition became a tradition for all of our neighbors as many of them would plan their holiday parties around when we would be coming to sing. I love this tradition so much that I have continued it with my children. It is now a tradition that they look forward to each year as well. I love singing Christmas music. It is my favorite way to celebrate the birth of our Savior!
Because I love to bake, it is also a tradition that we bring homemade goodies to give when we carol. :)

Rice Cereal

So we started feeding Emma baby food! Good old rice cereal to start. Our hungry little girl did pretty well. She likes the cereal but is still figuring out how to eat it. :)

Emma 4 months

Emma is 4 months old! She is so adorable and we love her so much! She has gotten less fussy which is great. She is shy and often will shy away from people she doesn't know and hangs on to mom. She loves sitting and scooting around in her walker and she is always sticking out her tongue! She has the cutest coos and even when she whines or cries it sounds cute. Emma is precious!

Lovely Lea

Here is my beautiful 9 year old daughter Lea. She is wearing her new sweater and scarf that she got for her birthday. Cutie!

Red Robin

This year we went to Red Robin for my Dad's birthday with my sister Cheryl and her boyfriend Rob. It was fun to be with them and celebrate my Dad.

Then Cheryl gave out presents to the kids. They each got a cute baby bear.

We love Cheryl!

Sledding!

Jonah's class play "Glow"

Jonah had the wonderful opportunity to be in his 2nd grade class play "Glow". He was a spider. It was a fantastic performance. I was able to work backstage and it was so much fun!

We dressed Emma as a ladybug in honor of the show because all the kids were different bugs.
Here's Jonah with his friend Jonas the firefly.
I loved spending time with Jonah at all the rehearsals and the play really was super cute and fun! Hopefully it is the first of many I get to be a part of with my children!

Family Time

While my mom was here, Cheryl and Rob came over for Sunday dinner. It was nice spending time with family members that evening.

Every night in December we unwrap a Christmas book and read it together. Here is Lea reading to everyone.
Micah wanted to be in every picture. :)

Then Grandma passed out her Christmas presents to Lea, Jonah, and Micah.

I love spending time with family!
