IT'S A BOY!

Wednesday I went to my ultrasound appointment and yes we are having another baby boy! We are all so excited! Jonah is happy to have a little brother coming that he can play with and Lea (although she was hoping for a baby sister) is thrilled that we are having a baby boy and the first thing she said when we found out was "Wow, mom, Jonah knew it was going to be a boy the whole time!" The baby looks helathy and now we are starting to think of names. Hmmm...What will it be?

Carving Pumpkins

For Family Night on Monday night, we decided to carve our pumpkins! Yes Jonah was thrilled to be allowed to use the pumpkin carving knife (supervised of course).
Lea liked cleaning out her pumpkin but she said it was too "hairy" inside. She said she wished she had a "bald pumpkin".

"And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbeleif: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed (or a pumpkin seed :) ), ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you." - Matthew 17:20The men hard at work! This is serious pumpkin carving business!

We each chose a different template online to carve into our pumpkins. Jonah chose a spider, Dan - a scary face, Lea - a salamander, and I chose a pumpkin wearing a witch hat. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Lea and Jonah's Birthday Party

We decided to try something different this year and have a combined birthday party for Lea and Jonah about 6 weeks early. This was so we could have nice weather (80 degrees!) and space out their birthday party from Christmas. So Saturday October 25th we had a Pirate/Mariposa Barbie birthday party. So we had pirates and butterfly themed everything. I made this treasure chest cake and my mom frosted the beautiful butterfly cake for Lea. It was a lot of fun!

We started with coloring and crafts

The kids decorated swords and butterfly wings with glitter and stickers

Then we took advantage of my mom's awesome backyard and let the kids get out some energy and play.

After a while of free time Dan organized a game of sharks and minnows.
The last two minnows!
Time for cake!
Happy birthday Lea!
Happy birthday Jonah!

Yummy!

Then it was time for the treasure hunt! Daddy made a great treasure hunt with fun clues!

They found the clue in the clubhouse!

There was a clue in the floating sailboat in the pool!
More clues for these Nancy Drew's!
When they found their treasure (the goody bags) they all enjoyed them!
Jonah got his eye patch - aarrgh!
The girls are checking out their treasure!
Time for presents!
Thanks Macey for the Diego color wonder book and markers for Jonah and Hello Kitty stuff for Lea!
Thanks Sophie for the princess stuff - especially the water color paint!
Thanks Simon for the remote control car!

Thanks Emma and Elizabeth for the Fairy Barbie and Polly Pockets!
And for the Pirate treasure chest for Jonah!

Thanks Elizabeth for the foam animals!
And thanks Stephen for the toy guns that shoot foam discs!

Thanks Grandma for the Superman and Spiderman outfits...
...and for the baby doll with all the gear!

Thanks Mom and Dad for the Mariposa Barbie!

And thanks Mom and Dad for the foam swords!
After the butterfly wings dried the girls put them on for a picture. Gotta love Elizabeth, the tomboy who wanted to decorate a sword instead of butterfly wings!

Daddy and Jonah had a sword fight with Jonah's new swords!
Jonah won!!!

After cleaning up from the party we went to Round Table Pizza for dinner! Mmmmmmmmmmmm!
They gave our kids these cute Halloween glasses!

The day was definitely a success! Lea and Jonah had a great time with their friends and it was so nice to be able to be outside in nice weather! We might have to do this again next year!!! Happy 5th birthday Lea and Happy 4th birthday Jonah!!! We love you!
