Father's Day Campout

Happy Father's Day!
I'm so happy that Daniel is the father of my children!
He is a GREAT Dad!

Lea, Jonah, Micah and I made this #1 Dad T-shirt for Dan for Father's Day.

We also went on a camping trip. This was a reward that Lea and Jonah chose for earning so many stickers on their chore charts. Yay!

We spent the weekend at Gualala River Redwood Park - a fun campsite amidst the redwood trees, along the Gualala River, and a mile from the ocean. It was beautiful. Here are Lea and Jonah inside a giant Redwood tree stump that was right by our campsite. They loved playing and climbing on this. Aleena remembers playing on this same tree stump when camping at Gualala once as a kid. So much fun!

Micah did very well on his first camping trip! He slept through the night and had fun hanging out with mom most of the time. Below are pictures of us having fun on the river. Dan brought his paddle board and loved it!

Daddy convinced brave little Lea to jump off this log into the river and she did!

We also brought our bikes and had a lot of fun bike riding aroung the camp grounds.

This campground is very family-friendly and it has a playground, and a game area with ping-pong, horseshoes, and bachi ball next to a little convienient store.

We saw some cool creatures while in the great outdoors. Lea found this snake and Daddy caught it for everyone to see and enjoy.

Mommy saw this banana slug and showed it to the family. When mommy was a little girl camping here, she remembers that it rained and lots of banana slugs came out! Banana slugs only live in the redwood forests in the pacific coast of the northwest.

This is Daddy measuring the banana slug with his finger.

On Father's Day, Dan got in one more paddle board ride in and gave himself an unintetional bath in the river when he fell off.

Before we left we went on a bike ride to the "Cathedral of Trees" - it is truly awesome! This is inside of it looking up.

Jonah and Micah both fell asleep, worn out from the fun-filled weekend.

Sunday we enjoyed a beautiful drive along the California coast on Highway 1. We also stopped at a beach for a short while on our way home. This picture shows the luggage rack with Dan's homemade extecsion to double it in size and help us to bring more fun stuff! Daniel is so smart, inventive, and fun!

What a great family trip and Father's Day weekend!

WICKED!

Yay! I love seeing good quality musical theater! My sister flew in from Utah to visit this week and she and I and my mom went to see Wicked in San Fransisco! We loved it! This was the first time any of us had seen it and we had such a great evening. All I have to say is whoever came up with this concept was VERY clever! Loved the music (the main actresses had AMAZING range and control of their voices!), the characters, and the creative story line. So much fun!

Losing Teeth and Riding Bikes

Lea lost her second tooth June 15th! That meant another visit from the tooth fairy - 50 cents! Yay! Lea said "The best part of losing a tooth is the tooth fairy coming!"

Lately our family has been the "Boyer Family Bikers". We have gone on bike rides almost every day. This is largely due to Aleena getting a new bike last weekend!

Micah doesn't like the bike rides very much and Jonah sits with him in the bike trailer and sings to him for comfort. What a sweet brother.
