Newborn Photo Shoot

My awesome friend Holly took these adorable newborn pictures of Emma when she was just a few days old. So cute!

We are all enjoying Emma very much! Mommy and daddy are sleepy but Lea, Jonah, and Micah are good helpers and we are a happy family! Here are a bunch of fun pictures of us with Baby Emma.

I don't know how I would have survived the first week if my sister Cheryl hadn't come to stay with us and help. She was awesome! Four kids is definitely in the big leagues! Thanks Cheryl!

Our sweet Emma Joy arrived August 2nd at 8:15am. We are so happy to welcome her into our family! She brings us so much joy and Daniel and I were so overwhelmed with joy at her birth that we had to make her middle name Joy!

My water broke at 9pm while we were swimming at my mom's house. I got out of the pool and noticed I was leaking fluid so off to the hospital we went. Well, I did take a shower and pack bags for my kids for the next couple of days while I would be at the hospital. I knew it would be some time before Emma was actually going to come. Emma was just like her siblings and had me labor through the night so that I was already sleep deprived when she arrived. My water always breaks at night. I did get 1 1/2 hours of sleep after the epidural kicked in though. :) Then when I woke up, I was fully dilated and ready to push. My Dr. is great and he asked Daniel if he wanted to deliver the baby. Daniel was thrilled to be able to do this. He suited up and the doctor gave Daniel instructions and soon it was time for Emma to be born. Two pushes later and Mommy feeling no pain thanks to the epidural :) and Daniel delivered our baby girl. We were so happy. The whole birth was perfect and beautiful. Emma is an angel!
