Lea's Harry Potter Birthday Party

Lea loves Harry Potter and she wanted to have that be the theme for her birthday party. We hadn't done it yet in Utah, so why not? Of course, it was super fun! You could even say it was magical!
We started with the Sorting Hat sorting everyone into houses: Gryfindor, Hufflepuff, and Ravenclaw - there were no Slytherins at this party!
We began with a feast of roast chicken, roasted potatoes, carrots, pudding, and butterbeer!

After the feast was potions class. Each house created their own potions with assorted soda, candies, and berries. They had so much fun doing this!

Professor Snape (aka Daniel) made an appearance to taste each potion and announce the winner of the best tasting potion!

Then each child got a glow stick wand and had duels with Latin spells they made up.
Then Lea opened presents. She has such great friends!

After opening up presents we had a guest wizard come to demonstrate his magic prowess - Wizard Rob!

 He kept everyone entertained!

Then it was time for cupcakes and yummy treats!

Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans, Chocolate Frogs, and chocolate mummy pretzel sticks were the highlights of course!

It was a fun party for a fun birthday girl! Happy 10th birthday Lea!

Happy 10th Birthday Lea!

I can't believe my firstborn is 10 years old! Double digits! She is such a wonderful daughter! Daniel and I are so blessed!
Lea loves to read, sing, dance, play the piano, play volleyball, play soccer, and to write stories and poems. Her favorite foods are chicken pot pie, chilli, pineapple, and salad.
As usual Lea's birthday started with breakfast in bed. We love this yummy tradition!
 I love my fun kids!

For dinner I made Lea a chicken pot pie.

After having birthday cake we went to Trafalga to play laser tag, rock climb, and play arcade games.

We were lucky to be joined by Grandma, Cheryl, and Rob!

What a fun birthday for my beautiful 10 year old daughter! We love you Lea!

Pinewood Derby

Jonah participated in his first Pinewood Derby with his cub scout troop. He had a lot of fun designing the car and making it with his dad.

Jonah was eager to see his car race.

He had a lot of fun. He won some and he lost some, but he got the award for "Best Design". It was a very cool-looking car! Great job Jonah!!!

Let it Snow!

This is a picture of Emma at 16 months old! She is such a cutie!

The snow is pretty when I'm looking at it from inside a warm home!
The kids love to play in the snow, and it's my job to make hot cocoa for them when they come back in. On this particular snow day I made hot chocolate with marshmallows and homemade gingersnaps fresh out of the oven to warm up my kiddos!

Yum!
