Micah 6 months

Our sweet baby Micah turned 6 months old this month and I wanted to share about him at this stage of his life. At his 6 month well-baby check up on September 11th, Micah was 20 lbs. 1 oz. (89%) and 2 feet 3 inches (74%). He is now in 12 month clothing! He is as lovable and happy as he is big. We love his frequent laughter and almost constant smile. Micah is sitting up very well on his own now. Mommy does put pillows around him to cushion him if he falls. He love grabbing for, shaking, and chewing on his toys. He can roll but he doesn't do it very often. He has started talking more often (making sounds and screeches and loud laughter). He LOVES food and Mommy can't eat anymore without feeding Micah too or he will let her know that something is not right! If anyone is holding Micah and they have food in their hand - be warned he will grab it and put it in his mouth! He knows what he's missing! And he is quick and strong! Micah thoroughly enjoys water. Every time he hears me start the bath water he starts wiggling and laughing with such joy because he loves the bath and he knows he'll get to play in the water. We have had a lot of fun with him in the pool this summer too. We love our little bundle of joy so much - Happy half birthday Micah!

Birthday Party!

Lea and Jonah both have birthdays in December but it is always hard to compete with the holiday season, so last year and this year we celebrated their birthdays early. This year we had a swim party with a lot of their friends. Lea wanted a Hannah Montana theme and Jonah once again, wanted Spiderman. We went easy on the decorating though and mostly let the kids swim and play. They loved it! The weather has been in the 90's all month so a swim party was perfect! We made homemade pinatas and Lea and Jonah loved being a part of that and thought it was fun.

This picture below is my favorite!

I usually make my kids a fun big cake but I told them I would do this for their real birthdays so I could keep it simple for the 15 kids we had at the party.

Presents!

Somehow we missed getting pictures of the boys doing their pinata but we got some pictures of the girls.

Happy Early Birthday Lea and Jonah! We love you!

Apple Festival

First I had to post a picture of Lea's penmanship. She is so cute writing her name with little curls. Lea's kindergarten class had an Apple Festival that I was able to help out at. It was a lot of fun!

The kids had an apple tasting where they got to taste red, yellow, and green apples. Lea decided that green apples are her favorite.

The apple relay - the kids loved this and did it over and over.

Last they worked on a couple of apple crafts.

Great Grandma's birthday and other cute pics

Lea and Jonah LOVE having special daddy time! Lea is loving known as "spud" and Jonah as "bud" and in this picture they are in their "spud spot" and "bud spot" which is what Dan calls it when he wants them to sit by him. It's very cute and the kids love it.

On Sunday we celebrated my Grandma Urrutia's 78th birthday. We had fun visiting with her and other family.

It was just as much a doggie birthday party as it was for humans. My grandma has one dog "Tex" the one closest to her and the other dogs belong to two of my uncles. But they all know that Grandma is a softie and here she is feeding them meat from her plate.

My beautiful daughter Lea and her two handsome brothers. Lea put this crown on Micah - the poor kid. But he looked so cute in it!

Lea's first soccer game

Well Lea has experienced her first soccer game. When asked how her game was she says that her team worked hard and had fun. They played a team that was more experienced than them and I lost count of how many goals they got. But Lea's team finally scored one goal in the second half. At one point when Lea was sitting out, she was sitting on the sideline and she couldn't stop giggling. She looked at her Daddy and in between giggles said "We aren't scoring any goals." The Power Puffs got a taste of humble pie, but they kept a good attitude about it and Lea was able to laugh it off. She is so cute.

Watching all those kids running made Micah hungry. Good thing he has a yummy apple slice to chew on.

Go team!
Running through the tunnel of parents at the end was a definite highlight of the game! Yay Lea!
