A Wicked Surprise

Well, Dan and I were planning to go see Wicked together in San Fransisco in March for our 8th wedding anniversary, but apparently Daniel couldn't wait that long. We had a date night scheduled and a babysitter ready and what I thought might be us going to the movies, turned out to be Daniel surprising me with seeing Wicked! Much better! What a wonderful husband I have!

Downtime

We love to have downtime together as a family. Micah is a little cherub when he sleeps and each family member loves him so much. Daniel is a great Dad. I feel very blessed to have a wonderful family.

Discovery Kingdom in Winter

This is an adorable card that Lea made for us for Christmas and I just thought it ought to be in here somewhere. We love you too, Lea.

We went to Discovery Kingdom with my Aunt Cheryl, cousins Tyler, Colby, and Jacey, and Jacey's three kids. Lea and Cambria just can't get enough of each other. They were side by side the whole time we were there. Since it is the winter time, Discovery Kingdom has fake snow and sledding there. Yay! It's the only snow my poor kids have seen since moving away from Utah. Snowball fights, sledding - They had a blast!

And of course a visit to Six Flags wouldn't be complete without rides.

2009 Christmas Card

December 2009

Dear Family and Friends,

Merry Christmas from the Boyer family! During this Christmas season we have many things to be thankful for including our amazing family and friends who bless our lives so much. We want to share with you some of the highlights that our family has experienced this year.

Daniel turned 30 this year! He grew out his hair to try out a Surfer-dude look and has just recently decided to be clean cut again to the delight of his wife. Daniel bought kayaks in March and has a blast with them during many kayaking adventures at the Suisun Bay, in the Ocean at several beaches, in the Gualala River, and Bear Lake. Daniel loved our vacation to Utah to visit the Boyer side and go to the awesome Annual Boyer Family Reunion at Bear Lake.

Aleena gave birth to our third child, continues to love blogging and posting tons of fun family pictures on her blog (daboyerfamily.blogspot.com), enjoys reading and being in a book club, loves baking and cooking scrumptious food for her family, and is learning how busy you get as a mom of three with a child in school.

Lea lost four teeth this year, and has now experienced the magic of the tooth fairy. She started kindergarten! Lea loves school and loves to learn. She also enjoyed playing soccer for the first time this year and is has just joined a Daisy Girl Scout troop. Lea and Jonah both did a fabulous job singing in the Primary Program a few weeks ago at church.

Jonah has strengthened his talent for imaginative storytelling this year and it is something that he loves to do. He learned to ride his bike without training wheels, then decided he preferred to have them on, and is looking forward to playing T-Ball in the Spring. Jonah and Lea had a combined swim birthday party this year that was very fun as well.

Micah was born March 11th and is such a joy. He loves to eat all food and he loves his family. He is chubby and big for his age and so fun to hug and kiss. Micah laughs often and his smile is contagious. He just got his first tooth in November and this month he has started crawling, clapping, and saying “mama” and “dada”.

We became a minivan family in January and our Mazda 5 has taken us many fun places this year. With season passes to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom we had a lot of fun there several times. We have also taken advantage of living so close to the coast here in California and we have had many fun beach trips. We were visited by Nana and Bapa, Anya, Aunt Sonja, and Aunt Cheryl and we were able to take them to the beach, Muir Woods, the Jelly Belly Factory, and the Aquarium in San Francisco. We went on a fun family camp out at Gualala River Redwood Park. We had a great time with family in Utah and we were honored to attend David and Kara's wedding in Idaho. In October we had a magical experience at Disneyland, a first for our family. And we recently returned from Oregon where we had a yummy Thanksgiving weekend with Grandma and Grandpa Leighton.

We have a loving Heavenly Father who gave us His Son, Jesus, to be our Savior. May we all remember this greatest blessing of all and serve each other as Jesus Christ would. This is a great way to celebrate the birth of our Savior this Christmas and to grow closer together in our families and communities. We love and appreciate all of you! Merry Christmas!

Love,

Daniel, Aleena, Lea (6yrs), Jonah (5yrs.), Micah (9 months)

Christmas Morning

Jonah was the first one up on Christmas morning. He burst into my room at 6:45am and declared "Mom, Santa came! And he brought me presents! I got on the good list! Even though I was a little naughty!" He said this with amazement, clearly he was worried he might get a lump of coal.

Jonah then woke up everybody else and by 7:00am we were ready to open presents. We first had family prayer and sang "happy Birthday" to Jesus.
Lea and Jonah both found new gloves in their stockings.
Jonah has been asking for toy keys for about 5 months.
Lea planned all year to ask Santa for the "Barbie and the Diamond Castle" movie.
Lots and lots of toy cars!
Dan got a yummy gift from Aunt Karina - rich cheeses and crackers!

Dan's favorite game from childhood - RISK - thanks Santa!
Micah really got into the presents too!
New spoons, yummy snacks, and new toys - not bad for his first Christmas!

Lea was very cute and bought everyone a gift from the dollar store this year. She used all her money from the tooth fairy and mommy chipped in a little too.
And yes, Micah is crawling! He started crawling just this month!
New sheets from Grandma and Grandpa Leighton - nice!
Rubber blocks from Aunt Cheryl to baby Micah.

Yummy!
Jolly Micah thoroughly enjoying his first Christmas morning with the family!

Lea made a fabulous calendar for Mommy and Daddy! It is very well done and we are so proud of Lea in all that she is learning this year.
Playdough from Uncle David and Aunt Kara - thanks!

Cuddle bugs with Grandma - we love Grandma so much!

And last but not least Lea and Jonah scored big time from Aunt Karina who gave them scooters! We had a wonderful Christmas this year and our family have been blessed by our Savior, Jesus Christ. Merry Christmas!
