Homemade Ice Cream for Father's Day

Well, I was so not thinking on Father's Day. I really enjoyed the day and my dad, but I didn't get any pictures of us. Silly me! We made my dad breakfast in bed and gave him cards. Lea and Jonah had made cards for him too. We made homemade vanilla ice cream that was soooo creamy and yummy! And we mixed fresh berries with it and had ice cream for lunch. It was so good! Then we went to church and afterwards we went to my Aunt Jeran and Uncle Dave's house for a BBQ in Santa Rosa. That was fun too! So it was a really nice Father's Day but I don't have pictures to show for it, except for a few pics of the ice cream. Dan was in Utah but we talked to him on the phone. Lea and Jonah and I will be heading back to Utah on Wednesday and we are excited to see Dan again!

Jelly Belly Factory

Living in Fairfield California, we live in the same town as the Jelly Belly Factory. They give free tours and free samples at the end of the tours every fifteen minutes. So you can go any time. I remember cutting school and going with my friends even as a teenager to get the free Jelly Belly Beans. This was the first time I took Lea and Jonah and they LOVED it! Especially the free Jelly Belly's they got to eat! Yum! They didn't have a cafe when I was younger but now they have this little restaurant in there that sells jelly belly-shaped hamburgers, hot dogs and pizza! Crazy! They are pretty pricey though so we didn't indulge ourselves this time.

Discovery Kingdom

I was so fortunate to live 10 minutes away from a theme park growing up. Of course I had to take my kids to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. We actually got season passes so we can go several times.

My Aunt Donna and her youngest daughters Tiahna and Bailey visited and I took a picture of them on this water ride even though it's hard to see them. We had a lot of fun with them!

Shouka the whale! We also saw the dolphin show but we sat in the splash zone and got SOAKED!!! So I don't have pictures of that.

This was in "Butterfly World" - it's this really humid greenhouse with butterflies everywhere! There is also a waterfall and fish pond in it.

This tiger was cool, except for when it sprayed (peed on) some people in the front. I'm glad we were in the back!

Birthday Party at Scandia Fun Center

Our California neighbor and friend Elizabeth turned 6 and Lea and Jonah were invited to her birthday party at Scandia Family Fun Center. They have a kid play place in part of it where the kids had a blast.

Visiting Friends and Chuck E Cheese

I had a great visit with my high school friend Nikki and her 2 month old baby, Isabella today. Mike was working but it was nice to see Nikki and Isabella and their beautiful home. I took this picture off their blog because I forgot to take pictures while I was there. On Tuesday I met some other high school friends (Meghan and her boyfriend, Gina and her husband and daughter and Marquez)at Chuck E Cheese's. The kids played and the grown-ups visited. It was fun. Lea and Jonah had a blast! My pictures turned out blury so hopefully I can get some from Meghan's camera so I can post pictures of us.

Family Picture

We got these pictures taken a couple of weeks ago. It was that time again. Time to get our family photo taken. Here are a few that I really like.

We are in California now visiting with my parents. My dad has been on chemo for 7 weeks and he starts radiation in a couple more weeks. He's been doing fairly well through it all though and only suffers minor side effects of fatigue with the chemo. It's supposed to get harder with radiation, but we'll see how it goes. Lea and Jonah have been a shining light here for my parents. They are great kids!
