West Coast Fun with Nana and Bapa

Last week Dan's parents came to visit us! They were there for Micah's baby blessing and we had the priveledge of spending time with them the whole week after. They got in lots of baby time and grandchildren time, which Lea and Jonah loved! Stan and Dan golfed together, of course, and all of us visited the beautiful redwoods of Muir Woods and had fun at Stinson Beach.

I love that Dan is adventurous and really knows how to have fun. It was great to be able to spend time with him in the beautiful redwood forest! Don't we make a cute couple!?!

Silly kids!

Lea is my water baby! She was the only one to brave the cold Northern California water on this very windy day at Stinson Beach.

Stan, Roxanna, Micah, and I relaxed and read on the beach.

The darn seagulls were annoying Roxanna while she read and attacking our bag of chips we had brought with no fear at all. We were the ones a little afraid of them!

Jonah LOVES to play in the sand, just like his Daddy!

Daniel, Lea, and Jonah built a fortress near the water's edge to see if it could withstand the waves as the tide came in! It was pretty strong and it protected Lea and Jonah from the water when they sat inside the fortress.

Kittens

Grandma's cats had kittens again! They were born 3 days after Micah so they are 2 months old now too! There are 4 of them. 2 boys and 2 girls. We are giving them away now, but not before Lea and Jonah got to hold them!

Micah's Baby Blessing

Last Sunday was Micah's Baby Blessing. He received a beautiful blessing from his father. Daniel is always so sensitive to the spirit and Micah's specialness came through. Micah was surrounded by family that day and he is a very loved baby!

My brother David finished his semester at BYU and is now home in California for the summer until he gets married August 7th! We love Kara, his fiance and we are so happy for them. This is David and Micah meeting for the first time. Look how attentive Micah is to his uncle! So cute!

Fun in the Sun!

The first part of the week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday) was HOT summer weather. It was in the 90's and we loved it. The kids got to play in the sprinklers for the first time this season and our swingset has been getting a lot of use. We've been having fun in the sun!

Weekend Retreat to Monterey

Last weekend Daniel and I went on a couples retreat through BYU alumni on the Asilomar resort in Monterey Bay, California. We brought little Micah with us of course, but Lea and Jonah stayed with Grandma! Thanks Mom! We had such a great time and we have decided that we need to take a weekend trip there with the kids sometime.
We arrived Friday evening for dinner and a fireside devotional. It was awesome! The speaker was Ron Clark who gave two fireside talks Friday night and Saturday night. Ron Clark is the director of public affairs and guest relations at BYU. He is in charge of hosting foreign dignitaries on campus. He also is the former public relations representative for the Osmonds for 14 years. He definitely had some awesome stories to tell and a strong testimony of Christ's true church and how BYU brings about so many missionary opportunities. He was a delightful speaker and we thoroughly enjoyed listening to him. We felt very priveledged to be with this amazing group of BYU Alumni.

Saturday Morning was cool and foggy, but it got nicer in the afternoon, and Sunday was gorgeous, sunny, and warm!

It was too cold to go in the water (the water was freezing!) but we walked along the tide pools and found lots of hermit crabs.

We went on the 17 mile drive which allowed us to see some cool things. One of them were the hundreds of seals out there in the Monterey Bay. This island was COVERED in them!

We found a very friendly squirrel that was so cute! Dan fed it peanuts and almonds and it was begging and reaching for them like a little kid. It was so cute.

This was a cool-looking cottage that overlooked the bay.

This is a really old cypress tree called "The Lone Cypress". Its been out there on those rocks for 250 years. Now that's an old tree!
