Soccer Stars!

Lea and Jonah are our soccer stars!

This is Jonah's first year playing soccer. The first picture below is right before the first game. He had been excited all morning and then when we got to the field, he decided to get uncooperative. This was him acting out because he was nervous for his first game. New things and change are difficult for him to adjust to. So Jonah is the kid turned away from the camera. He would not pose for the picture at all. He pulled it together for the game though and he had a great time playing. He tells me to cheer louder for him all the time and he says that soccer is tiring because of all the running, but he really does love it. Five of the boys on his team of ten players are in his kindergarten class at school, so he is making friends and he loves being a part of the team. Jonah is naturally gifted with athletics and he has size going for him as he is one of the taller players on his team so these help him a lot. He is great at blocking kicks and protecting the goal and he even has scored a couple of goals during the games this season. We are very proud of Jonah and how much he has learned and worked hard during soccer. Of course the fun he has had and the friendships he has made are the best parts of his soccer experience this year. Way to go Jonah!

I just love the loving way Jonah is looking at Micah in this picture. He really does love and cherish his baby brother. Micah cheers on Lea and Jonah at their games every Saturday.

Nice kick Jonah!

Lea has thrived during her second year of soccer. She is really good at it. She too is great at defense and protecting the goal. Being a full-back is Lea's favorite position to play. She takes after her mommy, who played that same position when she was in soccer. Lea is really fast too though, so her coach usually plays her as a forward for half the time she plays and defense for the other half. We are very proud of Lea for all of her hard work and her good attitude during soccer. Good job Lea!

Lea's team won $30 in a banner contest. They had the best banner in the league for their age group.

Run, Lea, run!

B-B-B-YU!

So the BYU football team has been having a very rough season this year. But we aren't fair-weather fans - we watch the games with friends and we still cheer on our team! Last Saturday we had a football party at our house with good friends and good food which made the game more bearable.

Lea was a cute future cheerleader and was doing a BYU cheer that she learned from her friend Elizabeth who went to a BYU cheerleading camp last summer. She claps and says "B-B-B" and then does the arm motions for "Y-U". It's rhythmic and cute and she had fun with it.

The Cutest Future Fire Fighters Ever!

The local firefighters had a party for the community and my mom and I took the kids. They had a good time.

There was this fun bouncy house that Lea and Jonah jumped in. Micah really liked watching but he wasn't sure about being enclosed in it himself.

Lea and Jonah got to use a fire extinguisher and put out a small fire.

Lea also got her face painted with a pretty blue flower. Jonah got Spiderman painted on his hand.

Our Little Reader

Lea LOVES to read and Daniel and I are so proud of her! She reads through her library books so fast, I feel like we are always going to the library to get more, and she checks out two books from the school library every week too! These pictures were when we were walking out of the library and Lea couldn't stop reading her book. She was walking and reading. It was so funny, I had to take some pictures. Lea reads all the time and most days she goes through 2 - 5 books in a day. Most of these are chapter books in a 2nd or 3rd grade reading level. She stays up late reading in her bed too. It is fun to see our daughter find joy in reading and excel in this new skill.

Twin Day

Michael and Jonah

Lea and Danielle

Last week there was a "Twin Day" at school and Jonah and Lea had fun being "twins" with their friends. So cute!

Just like Daddy

One day Micah just wanted to put on all of Daddy's things. Here he is wearing Daniel's hat and head lamp (around his neck). Later he also put on daddy's shoes. Micah is so cute!

Celebrating Melissa's Birthday

My good friend Melissa came over on her birthday so we could celebrate with her while her husband was at work. We sang to her, had yummy chocolate cake, and then talked for hours after the kids went to sleep. It was fun! Happy Birthday Melissa!
